Flower patch work

Uups .. there's a big hole....

.. and in a few minutes, a flower patch hiding it.

I found my daughters' old, tiny jeans jacket.

Hmm ... it needs some tuning.

A flower patch on the back?

Yes, now it is super cool.
I just need to find a little girl of max 98 cm tall, who would like to wear it.

Black bag

I made another bag, adapting a pattern from Virpi Siira's inspiring book: Oma koppa - Neliö virkattuja variaatioita. here is the link to her blog: http://omakoppa.blogspot.fi/

It has a little inside bag and a zipper, so that small things do not fall out. I am not sure if it is practical.. time will tell.

A close-up of the pattern.

Sweet flower wreath

Spring is in the air (every now and then..). I wanted to welcome spring by making this sweet flower wreath. There are beautiful examples in the web and inspired by many others, I made my own one.

I got started by crocheting these flowers. The pattern I adapted from:
http://prinsessajuttu.blogspot.fi/2013/05/virkattu-kukka-ohje.html

Then I made a long light green base where to plant my flowers and sew it together from the backside..

Then I made 10 little leaves following the simple pattern from this blog:
http://ihankaikkikotona.blogspot.fi/2014/04/kukkia-ja-lehtia.html

The last phase was to sew the leaves on the wreath in pairs and, then, glue the flowers by using a hot glue gun.

Beautiful and very girly - isn't it! A monochromatic version of this, using only black, white and grey could also be cool. For who could I make one? I need to think.

Spring dress for a little lady

Little ladies need beautiful dresses for their social events. I made one for my little neighbour and god daughter.

Parts....

Sewn together, with a little frill added on the hem.

Hmm ... what next. I still have candy colors left ....

Scarf in candy colors

As I had a lot of yarn left after I finished my tunic, I decided to make a scarf to fit the tunic. I wanted the scarf to have a slight 70's feel, so I decided to crotchet it to resemble a web.

It has the same colors as the tunic I made earlier.

It is 156 cm long and 22 cm wide.

Here you have the pattern and the plan I made. It was super easy and quick to make.

Pattern:

1st round: Make 48 chains

2nd round: Make 7 chains (=one Double Crochet and 3 chains). Make Double Crochet (DC), then 3 chains, DC, then 3 chains ... until the end of the round, so that you get this web-like pattern.

Repeat until the scarf has the length you want.

In my scarf, each stripe (in one color) is 22 rounds high.

Candy colors

I went to the yarn store yesterday and found these beautiful candy colors. Spring is in the air. The upcoming days and weeks will tell what these "cuties" will turn into ...

I started the project at the airport. I had a long flight overseas ahead of me....

I continued on the plane...

... and I continued at the hotel... as I woke up at 4 am every morning...

I worked on the final piece at Starbucks, back home in Helsinki...

And I am almost done.... after sewing and finishing all the left-over yarn.

Ready for a "selfie" with the candy color TUNIC on!

What next? I have some yarn still  ....
