Fake fur is still in

These vests I made actually last winter. The "thing" in these, is the colorful fabric inside. My girls just love these.

Men's shirts make great aprons

My girls like cooking. Last time we baked I noticed that Their old aprons had become too small. So, This week-end I took two old men's shirts, that a friend of mine kindly gave to me, and converted those into these girly aprons. Inspiration for these came from the book Sewing green by Betz White. These are easy and fairly quick to sew.

This is from the inside. Using the collar of the shirt on the waist, makes the waistband steady and fitting.

Crochet basket

I love making baskets. They are so quick to crochet. In these ones I added a little frill to make them a bit more romantic.

Crochet tunic

Making this tunic took some months. The pattern is from Novita magazine, Summer 2014. I just modified the model a bit by eg, adding the bow to make it look less like a tent and more like a dress. Pretty happy with the outcome.

Crochet a rose

I made these roses, following the instructions in this blog:
http://byninuska.blogspot.fi/p/blog-page.html
The roses are quick and easy to crochet. By putting a safety pin on each of them, I plan to wear these in hats or bags... or then the little girls in the family will steal these.

To store stuff

I bought the second Virkkuri book by Molla Mills a month ago. The book is as inspirational as the first one. I made already a couple of churns (maitotonkka in Finnish) and a crochet box to store my craft books in. The bigger churn is filled with stuffed toys and the smaller one with hairbands my twin daughters loose all the time.
