Crochet carpet for a summer house

Another week-end of crocheting ... and another carpet done. This is for my friend, her summer house.

I even got a blister. So, I needed to take a little break.

 

Test walk by the "client", 1-year old Melissa... She seems to like it.

I made a jumper

I made a crochet jumper. My first one.

I did not have any pattern, I just looked at the pictures in the above blog and tried it on while making it. This was surprisingly easy to do.

 

Now I need to get started with the crotchet carpet for another friend of mine.

Crochet carpet like a candy

I made this crochet carpet for a little girl, called Lotta. Her room has some pastel colors ....

.. so I looked for some inspiration for the color scheme in candies .. (the blue is actually mint green and the red is more pink)

First I made a prototype for Lego Friends girls - Emma and Stefanie - to test the pattern.

Then, 3 kg of tricot was the starting point for the real carpet...

 

 ... and then I sat down and started crocheting... few hours ...

 

 

... when the carpet was ready, some pink tricot was left over. So Lotta got a little pink basket, matching the carpet, as well.

 

 

 

Now, another friend wants a carpet for her summer house. Back to the yarn store ...

 

 



Little crochet witches

I felt like making something small, tiny, this weekend... so I ended up making these little witches....

... for no particular reason. They can fly around, at least, during Easter time. As Christmas is gone, I need to gear up for the next festive season.

The broom looks a little bit more like a cigar than a cleaning device. As long as it flies, it's fine for the green fellows.

Cool crochet beanies

We finally got snow here in Helsinki, and the temperature went way below zero. So, I made cool, crotchet beanies ("pipot") for my girls ..

... but these were not cool enough. My girls wanted more "attitude" - girly skulls! So, I got rid of the star and the heart and added some "attitude".

I made one for their cousin as well ..

 

 

 

 

... and my husband wanted a really colorful one.

Little hearts to decorate the Christmas table

The day before Christmas eve, I had nothing to do. So, I went to the local yarn store, and bought some yarn. I wanted to try out this thick cotton yarn (Kalastajan lanka) and ended up crotcheting these little hearts to hold the napkins in our Christmas table. The "diamonds" we bought earlier with my girls, and I think that the combination is quite festive.

Crochet purse for concerts

My sister goes to a lot of concerts and she does not have a little purse. So, I made one for her as a christmas present. Let's see if she uses it ...
