Shopping bag with pompoms

A True Lady needs a chic shopping bag. I made this fun pom-pom one adapting the pattern in Virkkuri 4 by Molla Mills. It might go with Santa to someone this Christmas...

Summer Cardigan

Well .. the summer is all gone, I know. However, I just finished my brand new Summer Cardigan. I don't know what happened this summer, but I just did not manage to get this cardigan finished....

The outcome is pretty Pretty, anyway. I guess, I will just call it Autumn Cardigan, and nobody will notice that it took an eternity to crochet. I even took the yarns to Italy and back.

100% cotton

100% autumn

Crochet wreath to celebrate 100 years of independence

This year Finland has been an independent country for 100 years. To celebrate that, I took blue and white yarn, the colors of the Finnish flag, and made this crochet wreath.

And now it is hanging on our door.

A turtle in my kitchen?

I woke up this morning and found this green little turtle in my kitchen. Where did it come from?

From this box of eggs?

Hmmm ...?

A girl??

Found them all. Happy and relaxing easter everyone!

Easter is basically done. Our creative team, however, keeps on coming up with new ideas ... This ladybug appeared in the kitchen today.

Easter wreath

My other 11-year-old daughter (not the unicorn amigurumi one) designed and made an easter wreath for our door.

She painted the eggs herself and added little chicks and bows all around.

Now easter may come.

Unicorn amigurumi

My 11-year-old daughter is an eager crocheter as well. She just finished her first amigurumi - this unicorn.

I translated the instructions into Finnish, and she did all the work.

Cute, isn't it?

Crochet Poncho

I have made several ponchos, but none for myself. So, it was time to make one.

As a starting point, I made four flower squares like this one.

Then I sewed two squares together....

... and ran out of yarn. Four squares were not enough to make a nice poncho. So, I went to the yarn store, and bought this lighter lila color to finish the poncho.

This way the poncho got some color and the extra-width it still clearly needed. I ended up with two rectangles of equal size that had an extension piece with lighter color.

I sewed the rectangulars together and finished the ends and the collar with the darker color.

Few silly ballet-like poses in front of my home with the poncho on to finalize the project.

Spring may come, I am ready!

Crochet Coasters

We recently renovated our kitchen. It was a project we were planning for 10 years and finally did it. For the new kitchen, one needs new coasters. So, I made few in candy colors.

Even the Pink Fluffy Unicorn loves these.

New Year, New Beanie

I decided to start the new year with a new beanie. It was made to match my scarf that I made already last year. Fengshui.

Happy 2017!!!

The picture was taken in the elevator of H&M (Helsinki), where there are mirrors everywhere, even on the ceiling.
